2020 Presidential candidates’ proposed changes to Social Security

With the 2020 election looming on the horizon, presidential campaign are in full swing. To help track the candidates and their positions on Social Security, the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College has put together a list comparing the various plans.

Compiling where each candidate stands into one chart makes it easy to compare and contrast the various presidential candidates.

With one glance, you can quickly tell that 6 of the 8 democratic candidates have come out in support of increasing the minimum benefit (all expect Amy Klobuchar and Tom Steyer). Or that only Tulsi Gabbard has spoken out in support of raising the threshold for taxes on benefits.

The Center plans to keep this list updated as the candidate pool shrinks and new information becomes available.
