Many Future Retirees Lack Knowledge About Social Security

Sometimes we just can’t see beyond the path we’re on. But retirement is down the road for all of us, if we’re fortunate, and this is why it’s important to know about Social Security.

According to the SSA, a majority of people know the basics, but far fewer understand the technical side of how benefits are calculated. Young people in their 20s and 30s reportedly had the least knowledge about the program. However, they’re much more likely to learn fast and put their knowledge to use.
