Public sector workers teach us, deliver our mail, and keep us safe. The many other functions they provide often go unnoticed or unthanked. But if anything, they at least deserve a great retirement.

CNBC shares this story of a long-time USPS worker, whose Social Security benefits were half what they expected. Even though they’d accumulated enough work credits, their benefits were cut unfairly. But many groups and unions are working to change this, so public sector workers get the full retirement benefits they’ve earned.
