The Social Security Administration (SSA) is always looking for ways to improve customer service. Not only is their latest change predicted to do this, but it could also tighten security.
Now users who call the SSA will have the option to use a Security Authentication PIN (SAP) as a means to streamline identity verification. Experts say this change could offer many benefits.
Using the PIN could reduce instances of fraud. It could also cut down on time spent on the phone by three minutes. When one considers how long callers wait on hold sometimes, this could be a valuable tool to streamline their support needs.
It should be noted this feature is available to users with a my Social Security account. In addition, it’s completely voluntary. Will you be trying out the new feature?
