Thanks to our modern world, seniors are more mobile than ever before. Whether traveling, moving, or staying put, seniors can receive their Social Security benefits on the go, no matter the time or place. The Social Security Administration (SSA) and its website portal let you change your address quickly and easily. That way, no matter where you go in retirement, your benefits will follow.

The SSA lists the steps needed to change your address and update your contact information. The first step is to create a “my Social Security” account through the SSA website. That account will require you to provide contact information, so the SSA sends important documents to your home.

If you already have an account, changing your address is easy to do. Select “My Profile,” and then “Update Contact Information,” and enter your new address, schedule the update, and submit. Now you’re done and have successfully changed your address in under a minute.

Seniors, especially fully retired seniors, move all the time. Retirement is a time to take for yourself, and sometimes that means a change of scenery. Luckily, the SSA has taken the hassle and frustration out of the process, helping make sure your benefits will be along for the ride. The Council for Retirement Security is dedicated to its work, and to protecting the retired benefits of seniors. So, the only thing you have to worry about is where to enjoy your retirement.
