Seniors May Lose Out on Nearly $20,000 if Changes Aren’t Made

A recent report detailed the amount of money seniors may lose if changes aren’t made to Social Security.

The total comes in at $17,400, which is a livable year’s salary in some of the country’s most affordable areas. Even in expensive parts of the nation, it’s a sizable chunk of money that would be very valuable to have. However, it could be lost forever for future retirees.

Social Security faces potential insolvency, and cuts are all but a guarantee if we don’t act now. We can’t allow seniors to be shorted on the funds they’ve fairly paid in.

After all, it’s not fair to think of all the money seniors may lose — Social Security isn’t a gift or a handout. Seniors have supported it, now it must show them the same respect.
