How do the two line up? Philomath News reports some interesting findings. According to this data, the best value can be found out in the Midwest. Six of the top ten cities for retirees are in this region. In these cities, housing costs were barely half of Social Security benefits.

While many retirees dream of that California retirement, the state’s housing costs can soar beyond the average yearly amount a retiree earns in Social Security.
