A woman in Berwick, Maine, is facing three years probation for committing Social Security fraud.

The woman concealed evidence that her husband was living in her household for a decade, so she could avoid claiming his income. This resulted in her claiming a great deal of Social Security money as well as public housing benefits.

In addition to probation, she’s required to pay back everything she received, which totals near $60,000.

As we’ve covered, Social Security fraud is all too common. We’ve heard stories about it happening to people from those they know, from their employers, and even from administrators of the program.
